Identity (First book in the series, The Essential Building Blocks for Wives of Elders)
Authors: Cheryl Mullis and Katie Polski - PCA

Many women spend their lives trying to prove themselves, but ministry wives often do this with spiritual language attached. In church culture, identity can easily become tangled up with ministry visibility, usefulness, or reputation. Without even realizing it, women begin measuring worth by how well they serve or how faithfully they support their husbands’ leadership.

Walk with elders’ wives, Cheryl Mullis and Katie Polski, as they reveal how Scripture dismantles those fragile identities and gives women their truest identity from which every other role must flow: child of God, united to Christ.

Cheryl Mullis works as the Director of Discipleship at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Annapolis, MD, where she and her husband are members. She loves seeing people grow in their love for Christ and His Word. She develops curriculum, builds ministry teams, and equips leaders with a particular passion for Word-based, relational discipleship. Cheryl also enjoys teaching and speaking at retreats and women’s events and has contributed to various CDM publications. In her free time, she may be playing with her grandchildren, reading a good book, or finding her way to the beach.

Katie Polski is a writer, Bible teacher, and speaker. She is married to Chris, a pastor at Trinity Church in St. Louis, MO, and is a mother to three wonderful kids and one wonderful son-in-law. Katie works as the Director of Music Ministries and Special Events at Trinity and writes for several Christian ministries and organizations. She

received her Master of Arts in Theology from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis and is author of Beyond the Back Row: Rediscovering the Beauty of the Local Church for your Family and You Are a Child of God.
