The Scripture readings are selections of the Passion account recorded in Luke’s Gospel, starting in the Upper Room and concluding at the sealed tomb.
The seven story narratives focus on experiences with, or teachings of, Jesus, based on the Gospel of Luke. They connect to the Lord’s Prayer as recorded in Luke and to the first Good Friday. The reflections are from the perspective of that first Good Friday night; the crucifixion has occurred, but not yet the resurrection.
The songs are choral responses to the specific Scriptures and stories. They are expressions of the truth of the Scripture and reflect what Jesus experienced and accomplished. Musical selections are suggested.
